Artist Statement:
As an artist and sociologist, I explore a wide range of human interactions. As we become increasingly connected through various channels, such as technology and transportation, we become disconnected to the structures that allow society to function. We do not have to be faced with the affects of how we treat each other and our environment. I am concerned with the role our existence plays on the planet as well as how our behaviors affect each other physically and emotionally. Through my camera I express a unique lens on the world while I use various other mediums to cathartically express deeper internal values and social issues. My work deals with mundane social relationships and the role of human existence as a force affecting nature. However, my work is not only a document of the relevance of human exchange in our environment, but also a challenge in the routines of our existence.
